Advantages

• Applied as a single-layer loose-laid system.
• Does not require a protective concrete layer, saving both time and cost.
• Thanks to its high-strength special polyester felt reinforcement, it is resistant to hydrostatic pressure, punctures, and tears.
• The combination of self-adhesive and torch-bonded overlaps minimizes application errors.
• Full adhesion to the concrete surface prevents the lateral migration of water.

Surface Preparation

The blinding concrete (lean concrete) must be cast with sufficient thickness and strength, and its surface should be properly finished. The substrate must be free of loose aggregates and sharp protrusions. Before application, the surface should be swept clean.

Application Method

After the blinding concrete has fully cured, the overlaps (joints) of Bituproof Y should be bonded by heating them with a torch. Longitudinal overlaps must be 10 cm, while transverse overlaps on the 1-meter-wide side must be at least 15 cm. To prevent longitudinal overlaps from aligning, membranes should be installed with a 30 cm staggered offset.

• Bituproof Y 4.5: Supplied in rolls measuring 1 m × 8 m

Storage Conditions and Shelf Life

• Bituminous membrane rolls must be transported and stored upright.
• Necessary precautions should be taken during transport to prevent rolls from tipping over.
• Store in covered warehouses with a flat floor, keeping rolls in a vertical position.
• Rolls must not be stacked on top of each other.
• Care should be taken during handling, loading, and unloading to avoid severe impacts.
• If stored outdoors for an extended period, the rolls should be covered to protect them from direct sunlight.
• Store in the original, unopened, and undamaged packaging in a dry environment, protected from direct sunlight, at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.
